Convert AAXC audiobooks to MP3
If an old AAX converter suddenly stopped working with your newest Audible books, AAXC is probably why. It's the newer format Audible uses for many recent titles, and AudiblePort supports it out of the box.

How to do it

-
2

-
3
Convert to MP3 or M4B
Choose your format and start the batch. AAX and AAXC books convert the same way.
What is AAXC?
AAXC is the successor to AAX. The audio is still AAC inside an MP4-style container with chapters and cover art, but the way Audible packages and delivers each file changed. As a result, many tools and scripts written for AAX don't work with AAXC files.
You usually can't choose which format Audible sends you: it depends on the title and when it was published or updated.
One app for AAX and AAXC
AudiblePort talks to your Audible library directly and handles whichever format each book uses. You just see your books; the app takes care of the rest and converts them to MP3 or M4B.
- Works with both AAX and AAXC titles in the same batch
- MP3 (64/128/192 kbps) or M4B with chapters
- Cover art and metadata preserved
- Runs locally on Windows, macOS and Linux
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if a book is AAX or AAXC?
You don't need to know. AudiblePort detects it for each book and handles it automatically.
Why did my old AAX script stop working?
Tools written for AAX often can't open AAXC files, which Audible uses for many newer titles. AudiblePort supports both formats.
Is conversion done online?
No. Everything happens on your computer; your audio is never uploaded.
